> Software Engineer – ATCA Networking
   
  Location: Irving, TX

 

Responsibilities
• Maintaining and debugging a complex code base
• Adding new features to DTI’s switching software
• Port embedded software and writing drivers when needed for DTI devices

Requirements
• BS in Computer Engineering or Computer Science required
• 2+ years of applicable experience in embedded software development required
• Proficiency in C programming required
• Proficiency in Linux required, including kernel customization and low level knowledge
• Knowledge of uBoot, Busybox, and other embedded software packages desired
• Proficiency in shell scripting, Perl, and Tcl desired
• Knowledge of layer 2 switched networks and protocols such as STP and VLANs a plus
• Knowledge of layer 3 routed networks and protocols such as VRRP and OSPF a plus
• Knowledge of AdvancedTCA and other telecommunications standards a plus
• Broadcom’s FASTPATH experience a strong plus
• Good communication skills; Ability to work alone and in groups

Requirements
• At least a bachelor’s degree in an engineering related field. Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, etc.

Skills
• Experience with Broadcom Ethernet switch silicon
• Knowledge of networking protocols, architectures, and topologies
• Experience configuring Ethernet switches, routers, and firewalls
• Knowledge of PICMG Spec 3.0 – AdvancedTCA
• Proficient with LVL7 FastPath software
• Cisco Certifications (any of the following) – CCNA, CCIE, & CCNP

Responsibilities

Provide Pre-Sale Support by:
• Reviewing Sales Orders for accuracy and device interoperability
• Reviewing requirements with customers and designing system to meet the desired needs  

Perform New Product Development Support by:
• Assisting Mechanical Engineering with system designs
• Managing vendors for outsourced designs
• Designing system-level bill of materials, wiring diagrams, and assembly diagrams
• Performing thermal analysis and modifying heatsink design to ensure successful product verification and validation
• Reviewing board-level products during the design phase for FCC, UL, CE, NEBs and other regulatory compliance
• Conducting and/or managing final product compliance testing for FCC, UL, CE and NEBs.

Support Troubleshooting of System-level Customer Issues by:

• Replicating the customer’s configuration in the lab
• Obtaining a representative system from the customer
Traveling to the customer to investigate the problem onsite

Requirements
• 4-year EE or CPE degree with digital design focus from an accredited college or university and 0-3 years of full-time, professional experience.

Skills
• Proficiency using Microsoft Suite applications
• Strong written and verbal communications skills
• Familiar reading schematics and wiring diagrams
• Experience using digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, function generators, and other related test equipment
• In-depth understanding of computer architecture
• Ability to work in a team environment and with minimum supervision

Requirements
• R&D and/or product development experience
• Familiarity of PLRC (Parallel Loaded Resonant Converter) design methodology.
• BSEE Degree Required
• Experience in three-phase and DC/AC power supply design.
• Knowledge of soft-switching techniques for DC-DC converters and DC-AC converters.
• Understanding of IGBT/MOSFET/Silicon Carbide component utilization.
• Understanding of control loop design optimization.
• Design experience for EMC including circuit board layout, control and filter design.
• Experience in the design and implementation of magnetic components for switch-mode power supplies, including high-frequency power transformers, inductors and filters.
• Coordinate the resolution of power electronics related problems with the design engineers.
• Support project schedules and make sure they are met.
• Strong problem solving and root-cause analysis skills.
• Coordinate transfer from Development to Production in defining test procedures, work instructions and facility capability requirements to support system level verification for high power electronic products.
• Support design efforts with sub-contractors and assist in the coordination for the transfer of intellectual properties
